Muslims often say “There is no God but Allah.” This makes no sense because Allah is Arabic for God—the words mean the same thing. Thus, they are essentially saying “There is no God but God.” So we agree that there is one God, and Muslims even claim Allah is the “God of Abraham.” But our real differences are over Jesus and Mohammad. Since Muslims think so much of Mohammed (their prophet) one would think we would often hear "there is no savior but Mohammed". Some Muslims refer to him as savior but there is no text in the Koran that speaks of him as being a savior.
All Christians consider Jesus to be the Savior of man and the Bible clearly supports that idea, but what about Muhammad?
- There are no prophecies that Muhammad is the Savior of mankind.
- To be the Savior one must live a perfect life—a life of no sin. But Muhammad committed sin (Qur’an 47:19).
- Before anyone should accept that a particular person is the Savior there must be proof, such as supernatural events, but Muhammad did not perform miracles (Qur’an 17:59).
- Muhammad was not divine and could not forgive sin (Qur’an 18:110). According to Qur’an 7:188, 11:34, 4:123, 16:37, 9:80 and 39:44, the intercession of Muhammad to help all Muslims to go to paradise is not possible.
Jesus Christ is the only historical person that satisfies all the above mentioned requirements that result in Christians being able to confidently say: THERE IS NO SAVIOR BUT JESUS.
2 Timothy 1:10 “…Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.”
Acts 4:12 "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."
1 Timothy 1:15; Luke 19:10; Acts 13:23; Titus 2:13; Matthew 1:21; Acts 4:12; Ephesians 5:23; Philippians 3:20; 2 Timothy 1:10; 1 Timothy 4:10; John 4:42
