Many accuse sound gospel preachers of preaching that WATER
saves. I call them on it every time I see or hear them making this
accusation. But they keep doing it--knowing they are lying.
Being baptized in water is something one does in response to
God's command as a condition to be saved (Acts 2:38; Rom. 6:3,
4, 17, 18; Gal. 3:27). If the power to save were in the water itself,
then anyone who drinks water or gets in water would be saved.
One would not even need to be baptized by another.
The idea that ANYONE is preaching "water salvation" is
preposterous. This ridiculously false charge should help those
who have yet to make up their minds about what the Bible
teaches regarding obedience to God's commands, as opposed to
salvation's being at the point of faith (see James 2:24).
One who makes a false assertion like this is definitely not
teaching the truth. This is why we need to debate those who do
so when we can and call them out every time they make the false
allegation that we teach "water salvation."
"If you did not hear it with your own ears or see it with you own
eyes, don't invent it with your small mind and share it with your
big mouth."
